The Sissiborgaon college was established in the year 1992 which was socio-economically and educationally very backward and also devastating floods affected the common and rural people yearly. A majority of people whose main occupation is cultivation, in a view to impart higher education to the students of those poor and downtrodden flood-affected families of this locality. Besides teaching and learning, the college has given due attention to the extension activities committee for extending activities which carried out community development and awareness program with a view to making the college a community education center in near future. Contrast efforts are being made to develop games, sports, social, cultural environment, and current socio-economic problems to enable themselves to stand as responsible citizens in a contemporary rapid technological-changing society. Therefore the College has also emphasized to value-based education inculcating social, moral, and ethical values among the students with a view to mold them into responsible individuals and good citizens.
Sissi borgaon college is an institution with having Arts faculty with a Major course in eight subjects which is affiliated to Dibrugarh University and try to introduce computer education and another co-education system.
